New Delhi [India]: Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday inaugurated newly constructed ‘UDAAN BHAWAN’ in Delhi and said that it will herald a new era of collaboration.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said “Today is a historic day for our civil aviation sector in India. Along with the rapid expansion of our sector in terms of number of our customers, our airport infrastructure, there is also a commensurate strengthening of the governmental infrastructure to ensure that we able to service the needs of our sector. Udaan Bhawan will herald in a new era of collaboration, productive working together and a new impetus in our sector from a service oriented view point.”
The new Bhawan will house all five agencies of civil aviation department under one roof for the first time in country’s history.
“All the five agencies of our civil aviation department whether it is DGCA, whether it is BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security), AIB, ERA, Airports Authority of India, all for the first time in our history will come together under one roof. And therefore, a coming together of all the agencies will spur the growth of aviation in the days to come,” Scindia said.
“Udaan Bhawan sets the stage for the take-off of civil aviation in our country and we commit that we will try and scale new heights for our sector, customers and most importantly for the people of India. It will be our resolve and our effort to make sure that this is a living building as well in addition to its being a facilitated building,” Jyotiraditya Scindia added.
Amid the tussle between Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and Jyotiraditya Scindia over Kota Airport, Union Civil Aviation Minister slammed the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan saying that the “back-and-forth”, “staggered response” and “tardy pace” of handing over land by the Rajasthan government has led to delay in development of the Kota Airport.
“The back-and-forth, staggered response and tardy pace of handing over of the land by the State govt. have delayed the process of development of the #KotaAirport It shows that CM @ashokgehlot51Ji is least interested in the development of Kota Greenfield Airport or civil aviation in the State,” the Civil Aviation Minister said in a post on ‘X’ on Saturday.
