What’s at Stake?
A BJP victory would mark the party’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years, a significant historical milestone. For AAP, winning these elections would solidify its position with a third consecutive term, or a hat-trick, under Kejriwal’s leadership.
Ahead of the counting, several candidates, including BJP’s Shikha Rai, Congress’s Alka Lamba, and AAP’s Manish Sisodia and Saurabh Bharadwaj, visited temples to offer prayers.
To form the government in Delhi, a party or alliance must secure at least 36 seats in the 70-member assembly. The final results will determine whether AAP retains its stronghold or BJP stages a landmark comeback.
