The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Delhi is likely to hold its swearing-in ceremony on February 19 or 20, according to a senior party leader. However, suspense looms over who will be named the next Chief Minister of Delhi.

With BJP securing a majority in the recently concluded elections, the new government has outlined its top priorities, which include:
While several names are being speculated, Rajouri Garden MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa has emerged as one of the contenders for the CM or a ministerial berth. Abhay Verma, a second-time MLA from Laxmi Nagar and a prominent Purvanchali leader, is also among the prospective candidates for the role.

“There is no race for the post of Delhi Chief Minister. In our party, the CM is chosen through a meeting of the MLAs,” said Abhay Verma, dismissing media speculation.
Senior BJP leader Mohan Singh Bisht confirmed that the final CM pick will be made from the 48 BJP legislators in Delhi.
🔹 Ayushman Bharat Rollout:
The BJP MLAs have confirmed that the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme, previously obstructed by the AAP government, will be implemented in Delhi’s first Cabinet meeting.

🔹 Yamuna Pollution Control:
BJP leaders have emphasized sewage treatment plants (STPs) to clean the 28 major drains flowing into the Yamuna, reducing pollution and ensuring cleaner water.
🔹 Renaming Mustafabad Constituency:
MLA Mohan Singh Bisht proposed renaming Mustafabad to “Shiv Vihar” or “Shiv Puri”, citing public sentiment in the Hindu-majority area.
Observers believe the BJP legislature party meeting will take place after PM Narendra Modi returns from his France and US trip. The Prime Minister landed in Delhi on Friday night, and the party is expected to finalize key leadership decisions soon.
With BJP now in power, all eyes are on the Cabinet formation and whether the party can deliver on its promises for civic reforms, clean governance, and infrastructural improvements in the capital.
