July 7, 2025: Finally, some good news for Delhi-NCR residents! After days of unbearable heat and sticky humidity, the national capital woke up to light to moderate showers on Monday morning. The rains started overnight, bringing down the temperature and giving everyone a breather.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert for Delhi, and it seems the forecast didn’t disappoint this time. The sky remained cloudy, and the drizzle continued through the morning, much to the delight of early risers.
As per the IMD’s latest forecast, Delhi-NCR can expect cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning, for the next two days (Monday and Tuesday). From Wednesday to Sunday, the weather will remain mostly cloudy, with very light to light rainfall expected across the city.
So, if you’ve been waiting for a reason to ditch the AC and go for a chai by the window—this is it!
On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 35°C, while the minimum touched 28.8°C. With the monsoon setting in more firmly this week, temperatures are expected to hover between 32°C to 34°C, offering some much-needed relief from the scorching sun.
Not just Delhi, but Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Punjab are also likely to witness rainfall over the next couple of days. The monsoon is gradually gaining strength in North India, and even if it means longer traffic jams, the rain is still a welcome change for most people.
Here’s another piece of good news—Delhi’s air quality has improved significantly. According to the IMD and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the ‘satisfactory’ category on Monday.

So, for now, it’s a win-win for Delhiites: cooler weather and cleaner air!
