The New Delhi Government Has Recently taken Charge
March 17, 2025: Delhi Police has announced the launch of โAnti-Romeo Squadsโโa new initiative aimed at ensuring womenโs safety in public places across the capital. The move comes as part of efforts to curb eve-teasing, molestation, and harassment.

โ Each district to have at least 2 squads led by a top cop (ACP level) from the Crime Against Women Cell.
โ Squad Composition: 1 Inspector, 1 Sub-Inspector, 4 Female Officers, 5 Male Officers, plus special staff for technical assistance.
โ Dressed in Civilian Clothes โ Officers will operate in plain clothes to catch offenders red-handed.
โ Daily Drives at Vulnerable Spots โ Squads will patrol hotspots and conduct surprise checks on public transport.
โ DTC Conductors, Drivers, and Public To Be Engaged โ Encouraging reporting of harassment cases.
