Police nab Dr Rameez after days on the run with ₹50000 reward

January 10, 2026: Lucknow Police have arrested Dr Rameez, a key accused in a high-profile dharmantaran case, bringing an end to an intensive manhunt that lasted several days. The doctor had been absconding and a reward of ₹50000 was announced for information leading to his arrest.

According to officials, Dr Rameez was reportedly preparing to surrender, but police teams apprehended him before that could happen. His arrest is being described as a significant breakthrough in the investigation, which had triggered concern due to the sensitive nature of the case.

Police said further investigations are underway to establish the full scope of his alleged involvement in religious conversion activities. Authorities have urged citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious activity, stressing that maintaining law and order remains a top priority.
