Encounter Breaks Out in J&K’s Kishtwar; 3-4 Terrorists Believed Trapped in Ongoing Army Operation
Srinagar, May 22, 2025 – An encounter is underway in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, where at least 3-4 terrorists are believed to be trapped, officials confirmed on Thursday morning. The operation was launched by a joint team of the Indian Army and local security forces, acting on specific intelligence inputs.
The area has been cordoned off and intermittent gunfire is being reported, with reinforcement units deployed to prevent any escape or collateral damage.
This encounter comes in the wake of heightened counter-terrorism activity in the region, including a successful operation last week in South Kashmir, where three terrorists were neutralized by security forces.
Further updates are awaited as the operation continues.
