ESIC Scheme Witnesses Growth With 19.88 Lakh New Workers Enrolled In July 2023

New Delhi [India]: In a remarkable display of growth and inclusivity, the provisional payroll data of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has revealed that a staggering 19.88 lakh new employees were enrolled under the ESIC Scheme during July 2023.

This surge in enrollments demonstrates the growing significance of the ESIC Scheme in providing social security to workers across the country, reads the Ministry of Labour and Employment press release.

Moreover, it signifies the substantial expansion of employment opportunities in various sectors.

A particularly noteworthy aspect of this surge is the substantial enrollment of young employees, with 9.40 lakh individuals falling within the age group of 25 years or below, reads the press release.

This group constitutes a significant 47.9 per cent of the total new registrations, emphasizing the employment generation for the youth of the nation.

Additionally, the data reveals that 27,870 new establishments have been registered under the ESIC Scheme in July 2023.

This expansion ensures that more organizations and their employees are brought under the social security umbrella of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, providing them with comprehensive benefits.

In terms of gender representation, the data highlights a positive trend with 3.82 lakh new female members enrolled in July, read the release.

Furthermore, the ESIC Scheme has extended its benefits to 52 transgender employees during the same month, showcasing the commitment of ESIC to inclusivity and social welfare.
