Chief Fire Officer Pramod Sharma confirmed that fire tenders were immediately dispatched upon receiving the report. “The fire has been fully contained, and no casualties have been reported,” Sharma told PTI.
Although the fire spread to over a dozen nearby camps, causing significant property damage, authorities managed to bring the situation under control. DIG (Maha Kumbh) Vaibhav Krishna assured the public that there were no injuries and that the blaze had been completely controlled.

This marks the third reported fire incident in the Maha Kumbh Mela region. Just last month, a cylinder blast caused a fire in Sector 19, injuring one person and destroying 18 tents.
Following the previous incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj to oversee preparations for Mauni Amavasya and directed authorities to implement measures to prevent similar events.
Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage. The affected area has been cordoned off, and police have requested pilgrims to exercise caution while participating in the event.
