
Fire Erupts at DDA Flats in Delhi’s Kalkaji
Blaze on fourth floor triggers panic, seven residents evacuated safely
January 11, 2026: A fire broke out on the fourth floor of a residential building at DDA Flats in Delhi’s Kalkaji area, triggering panic among residents. Fire department teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and immediately launched firefighting operations to contain the blaze.
As a precautionary measure, seven people were evacuated from the building to ensure their safety. Officials said the timely response helped bring the fire under control before it could spread to other floors, averting a major incident.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and authorities have initiated an investigation. After the situation was stabilised, residents were allowed to return to their homes and normalcy was restored in the area.
