Foreign Devotees Join Millions at Maha Kumbh 2025 for First Amrit Snan

Devotees from India and abroad gather at Triveni Sangam for a sacred dip on Makar Sankranti, marking the start of Maha Kumbh 2025

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), January 14: The Maha Kumbh 2025 began with grandeur as devotees, including many from abroad, gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj to participate in the first Amrit Snan on Makar Sankranti.

The sacred event brought together people from across the globe, immersing themselves in the spiritual significance of the world's largest religious gathering. The Sangam witnessed foreign pilgrims chanting bhajans and experiencing India's profound cultural and spiritual traditions.


Global Devotion at the Sangam

Foreign devotees actively participated in the devotional ambiance, singing hymns like ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ and ‘Mahishasura Mardini Stotram’, merging seamlessly into the spiritual energy of the gathering.

Sacred Processions by Akharas

The Mahanirvani Panchayati Akhara led the processions for the Amrit Snan. Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara were among the first to perform the holy dip, honoring centuries-old traditions.


Significance of Maha Kumbh 2025

As one of the world's largest and most significant religious congregations, the Maha Kumbh takes place every 12 years. This year’s Poorna Kumbh will continue until February 26, 2025, drawing millions of devotees, tourists, and spiritual seekers.
