Holi Politics Heats Up: Manoj Tiwari Hits Back at AAP Over Free LPG Protest

BJP MP urges celebrations without controversy, assures free LPG rollout within a month

Delhi’s Holi Turns Political Amid AAP’s Protest Over Free LPG Promise

The festival of colors in Delhi took on a political hue as BJP MP Manoj Tiwari celebrated Holi with party workers while addressing Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) protests over the delayed rollout of free LPG cylinders. Tiwari dismissed the controversy, urging people to enjoy the festival rather than politicizing it.

“Holi comes once a year. Those trying to create an issue over it are not doing any good. ‘Holi waale Holi manaayein, Jumma waale Jumma manaayein,’” he remarked, taking a veiled dig at AAP’s protests.

Tiwari Assures Free LPG Scheme Implementation Soon

🔹 Responding to AAP’s demand for immediate implementation of BJP’s free LPG cylinder promise, Tiwari reassured that the scheme was in progress.

🔹 “We will provide it. We are categorizing the beneficiaries right now, and it will take around one month,” he clarified.

🔹 AAP has accused BJP of misleading voters, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee of free LPG cylinders by Holi has turned into a ‘jumla’ (false promise).

BJP’s Counterattack: AAP Will Meet Worse Fate Than Congress

🔹 BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva also weighed in, slamming AAP for its “politics of lies and confrontation.”

🔹 “AAP always made false promises. First, they protested over our promise of ₹2,500 for women, and now they are worrying about cylinders. Let me tell them—the BJP will fulfill every promise made in its Sankalp Patra. They are panicking because the people have rejected them, and soon AAP will face a worse fate than Congress,” he asserted.

AAP’s Protest Escalates: “Modi’s Guarantee Was Just a ‘Jumla’”

🔹 Earlier in the day, AAP leaders staged a protest at ITO, displaying banners opposing BJP’s “unfulfilled” LPG promise.

🔹 AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar lashed out at the BJP, branding it a ‘jumla’ party.

🔹 “Modi ji guaranteed free LPG cylinders to Delhi’s women by Holi. Today is Choti Holi—where are the cylinders? The people of Delhi are still waiting! BJP has deceived them, just like they lied about the ₹2,500 aid. Our protest will continue until every woman in Delhi gets her free cylinder.”

🔹 Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition Atishi also targeted PM Modi and BJP, accusing them of failing to deliver on their electoral promises of financial aid and subsidized cooking gas.

The BJP’s LPG Promise: What Was Promised?

In its Delhi Assembly election manifesto, BJP promised:
₹2,500 per month under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
LPG cylinders at ₹500 for low-income women
One free LPG cylinder for Holi and Diwali

On March 8, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reaffirmed that the BJP-led government in Delhi would fulfill these commitments.

With AAP continuing its aggressive protests and BJP defending its promise, Delhi’s political battleground remains heated—even as Holi colors fade.
