How Did Faridabad Police Find Out About Tannu Rajput’s Body Outside In-Laws’ Home
June 21, 2025 | In a deeply disturbing development from Faridabad, police have uncovered the body of Tannu Rajput, a 25-year-old woman reported missing two months ago, buried in a 10-foot-deep pit right outside her marital home. What began as a seemingly routine missing person case has now turned into a shocking homicide investigation, with four members of her in-laws’ family — including her husband — now in custody.
Tannu Rajput, originally from Khera village in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, married Arun Singh, 28, in 2023. On April 25, Arun reported her missing at the Palla police station, claiming she was intellectually challenged and had wandered off. However, her family remained unconvinced and suspected foul play from the beginning.
Their suspicions proved tragically correct.

For nearly two months, the in-laws managed to deceive neighbours and the police. But the breakthrough came when Tannu’s father pointed out a freshly filled pit outside the family’s three-storey home in Roshan Nagar, Faridabad.
On Friday, the police detained Bhoop Singh, 50, Arun’s father. After hours of interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the crime. A JCB excavator was deployed, and police dug nearly 10 feet into the earth. There, they found Tannu’s decomposed body, her identity confirmed by the clothes she had last worn — a heartbreaking moment for her grieving family.

Inspector Satya Parkash, SHO of Palla police station, confirmed the sequence of events:
“The pit was originally dug for a sewer connection. It was filled with sand and later used to hide the body under cover of darkness. No one from the neighbourhood suspected anything.”
The family’s premeditated actions—from the false complaint to the meticulous burial—reflect chilling forethought. Authorities believe the motive was domestic tension, though further investigation is ongoing.
As the autopsy results are awaited, the focus has shifted to ensuring justice for Tannu, whose life was allegedly extinguished by those meant to protect her. Her family’s persistence led to the unearthing of the truth—literally and figuratively.
