In a shocking incident from Hyderabad, a 45-year-old man, Guru Murthy, allegedly murdered his wife, dismembered her body, and attempted to destroy evidence by boiling the remains in a pressure cooker. The chilling crime came to light during a police investigation into the disappearance of his wife, Venkata Madhavi, 35, who was reported missing by her family on January 16.

Upon questioning, Guru Murthy reportedly confessed to the crime, claiming he chopped his wife’s body in the bathroom before boiling the pieces in a pressure cooker. He then separated the bones, ground them with a pestle, and repeated the boiling process over three days. The remains were later packed and dumped into Meerpet Lake, according to a report by The Times of India.

Murthy, a former soldier and currently employed as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), allegedly carried out the gruesome act following frequent domestic disputes with his wife.
The couple had two children, a boy and a girl, whose welfare has now become a concern as police continue their investigation.
Authorities are working to verify Murthy’s claims and have launched a search for the body parts in Meerpet Lake. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, and police are probing the events leading up to the incident.
