⛈️ Monsoon Gains Momentum With Torrential Showers Expected Across North, South, and Central India

June 25, 2025 – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi today and forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across multiple Indian states until June 30, as the monsoon system strengthens nationwide. The national capital is expected to see monsoon arrival by Thursday, June 26, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely through the week.

🌧️ Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra & Kerala Already Reeling

  • Delhi-NCR: Yellow alert in effect today; monsoon expected by Thursday.
  • Surat, Gujarat: Waterlogging, school shutdowns reported.
  • Nashik, Maharashtra: Overflowing Godavari submerges roads.
  • Kerala: Continuous rain lashes coastal and hilly areas.

  • Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat
  • Saurashtra & Kutch (Isolated pockets)
  • Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West UP, Rajasthan
  • Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad (25–27 June)
  • East UP (27–30 June)

  • Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh: Isolated to heavy rainfall until June 28
  • West Bengal & Sikkim: Rain spells on June 25, 28, and 29
  • Andaman & Nicobar Islands, MP, Vidarbha, Gangetic WB: Thunderstorms, winds up to 50 kmph
  • Northeast India: Daily rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning over next 7 days
  • South India:
    • Kerala & Karnataka until June 28
    • Tamil Nadu & Coastal Andhra on June 27–28
