"INDIA alliance is successful, will win elections also": Ashok Gehlot
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Sunday voiced his optimism regarding the INDIA alliance’s prospects in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election. Highlighting the current political climate, Gehlot criticized the functioning of independent agencies and the state of democracy and law and order in the country. He asserted, “The INDIA alliance is successful, and we will also win the elections,” challenging the expectations set by their opposition.
In a display of solidarity, key figures from the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, M K Stalin, Uddhav Thackrey, Priyanka Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, and others, united at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s conclusion in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, symbolizing the alliance’s unity.
The leaders paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin emphasizing the alliance’s commitment to serving the people and restoring the integrity of India. Farooq Abdullah made a poignant call to voters about safeguarding their votes against EVM discrepancies, proposing a future without EVMs and an independent Election Commission under the INDIA Alliance’s governance.
Tejashwi Yadav lauded Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra for its message of unity and brotherhood against hatred, thanking him for his efforts to uphold the Constitution. Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh dismissed the alliance’s gathering in Mumbai as merely a “photo session,” referring to an earlier meeting in Patna.
The general election for the Lok Sabha is scheduled to occur in seven phases starting April 19, with the final count on June 4. With nearly 97 crore voters eligible across 543 constituencies, the announcement of the election dates brings the moral code of conduct into immediate effect, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral battle.
