PM Modi says reform express gaining speed

January 8, 2026: India’s GDP is projected to grow at a strong 7.4 percent in the current financial year bringing positive news on the economic front. The estimate reflects steady momentum in the economy despite global uncertainties and has been seen as a sign of stability.

Reacting to the projection Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s reform express is gaining speed. He credited investment friendly policies and structural reforms for boosting investor confidence and strengthening the economic framework.

The government said consistent policy measures infrastructure development and a focus on manufacturing and services have supported the growth outlook. The projection underlines resilience in the Indian economy and signals optimism for sustained economic progress ahead.
