New Delhi [India]: After meeting Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday, newly appointed BJP national secretary Anil Antony said that he discussed with the Union Home Minister many issues concerning the public, especially the youth in Kerala.
“Called on H’ble Union Home Minister @AmitShahji today at Parliament House. Could discuss many of the pressing issues concerning the public, especially the youth in Kerala. India is safer and more secure than at any time in the past during the current government’s tenure led by H’ble PM Sri. @narendramodiji,” Anil Antony tweeted.
Anil Antony, son of veteran Congress leader and former Union minister AK Antony, was recently appointed as the BJP’s national secretary. A day after his appointment, he told ANI that he would strive to carry forward the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation.
“I am honoured and humbled by the support and confidence shown to me by the party leadership. I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi-ji, Amit Shah-ji, and Nadda-ji, among others. I am grateful to everyone who supported and guided me in my political journey, over the years,” Anil Antony had said.
Formerly with the Congress, Anil joined the BJP earlier this year after coming out in support of PM Modi and the Centre over the controversial two-part BBC documentary series on the 2002 Gujarat riots.
Announcing his resignation on Twitter, Anil mocked the Congress saying that he received intolerant calls to retract a tweet (in support of PM Modi amid the docu-series row) by those “fighting for free speech”.
