Key participants included Erik Solheim, Lindy Cameron, Shishir Priyadarshi, and Harjeet Singh. British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron emphasized that “India is the country that matters most for the future of the planet and climate change,” pointing out India’s need to balance development with sustainability. She stressed the UK’s commitment to supporting India through technology, MDB reforms, and research.
Harjeet Singh urged urgent global policy actions, stating, “Series of disasters affecting both developed and developing countries are serving as a wake-up call.” He underscored that vulnerable nations will struggle without adequate support from richer countries.
India’s leadership through initiatives such as the Global Biofuels Alliance, International Solar Alliance, and Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure was highlighted as a testament to its commitment to climate action.
