The volatile border situation between India and Pakistan intensified Friday morning, as air raid sirens were sounded in Chandigarh, with authorities in Patiala also issuing an advisory asking citizens to stay indoors and remain calm.
The alerts come as the Indian Army confirmed that multiple Pakistani drone and missile attacks were repulsed overnight along the entire western border, including Jammu, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia. The Russian-origin S-400 air defence systems played a key role in intercepting at least eight missiles targeting critical military zones in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army stated that no casualties were reported in the thwarted missile barrage. The Pakistani attacks reportedly followed India’s precision air strikes under Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
