India is all set to celebrate its 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026, with elaborate festivities planned along Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The annual parade will showcase India’s military strength, cultural diversity and civil achievements, drawing spectators from across the country.

Preparations are already in full swing, with rehearsals underway for multiple national events. This year’s Republic Day season is especially significant as it also features the 78th Army Day Parade on January 15, to be held in Jaipur. This marks the first time the Army Day Parade will take place in a public, non-cantonment location.
The Army Day Parade will highlight major defence platforms under “Operation Sindoor”, including T-90 tanks, BrahMos missiles and M-777 howitzers, underlining India’s growing focus on defence self-reliance and modernisation. Army Day commemorates January 15, 1949, when General K M Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.
