"India’s Inflation Hits Lowest Level in Months, Bringing Relief to Consumers"
New Delhi, March 12: India’s inflation rate saw a major drop in February 2025, hitting its lowest level since July 2024, bringing relief to consumers grappling with high living costs. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation stood at 3.61%, marking a significant 65 basis point decline from the previous month, as per data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
The steep fall in inflation was largely driven by a sharp correction in food prices, with the All India Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) dropping to 3.75%, a notable 222 basis point decline from January 2025. This is the lowest food inflation rate recorded since May 2023, reflecting improving price stability in essential goods.

The drop in food inflation has significantly eased financial pressure on households, signaling economic stability and potential policy adjustments by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the coming months.
