IndiGo Airlines Issues Travel Advisory For Passengers Flying Out Of Mumbai Due To Heavy Rainfall

Mumbai is having a lot of trouble with waterlogging and traffic jams after it rained 177 mm in only a few hours. IndiGo Airlines tells travelers to leave early and keep an eye on their flight status because the IMD says more heavy rain is on the way.

Mumbai, August 19: The city woke up soaked again as heavy rain fell, disrupting activity and causing huge amounts of water to collect in many areas. IndiGo Airlines sent out a thorough travel advise to travelers who were supposed to fly out of the city, which showed how bad the situation was at the airport.

The airline warned visitors that traffic would be slow on the roads leading to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport because of constant rain that has flooded several areas. At the same time, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red signal for Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad, warning that there would be very heavy rain in some spots. The advisory is in effect until August 21, and high tides might make the flooding situation worse.

Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, also gave a warning, saying that Mumbai alone had 177 mm of rain in just 6 to 8 hours. He told people to be careful, not travel unless they had to, and stay inside as much as possible.
“Over the last two days, Maharashtra has seen a lot of rain. Several districts have gotten Red and Orange Alerts. Warnings of severe weather will still be in effect for almost half of Maharashtra’s districts for the next three days. “We are taking all the necessary steps to reduce risks,” he said.

Mumbai is still fighting against the fury of nature, as the monsoon shows no signs of letting up.
