Over 15 lakh candidates registered across two sessions; NTA introduces advanced security to curb malpractice while cut-offs for JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility released
New Delhi [India], April 19:
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday announced the results of JEE Main 2025 (Paper 1 – B.E./B.Tech), with 24 candidates achieving a perfect 100 percentile across the two sessions conducted in January and April.
This year saw a massive participation, with over 15.39 lakh unique candidates registering and 14.75 lakh appearing in at least one session. The exam was conducted across 300 Indian cities and 15 global locations, including Dubai, Doha, Singapore, and Washington DC, in 13 languages.
Among the top scorers, Rajasthan led the tally with 7 students, followed by Maharashtra and Telangana (4 each), Uttar Pradesh (3), West Bengal (2), and Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh contributing one each.
Female Achievers Shine Bright
This year’s perfect scorers include two female candidates:
- Devdutta Majhi from West Bengal
- Sai Manogna Guthikonda from Andhra Pradesh
Category-Wise Cut-Offs for JEE Advanced 2025:
The NTA also announced the minimum percentile cut-offs required to appear for JEE Advanced 2025:
- Unreserved (UR): 93.10
- EWS: 80.38
- OBC-NCL: 79.43
- SC: 61.15
- ST: 47.90
- PwBD (UR): 0.0079
High-Tech Security, Some Irregularities
To ensure fairness and transparency, NTA deployed AI-based video analytics, 5G jammers, CCTV surveillance, and biometric attendance systems. Despite these efforts, results of 110 candidates were withheld for unfair practices and 23 for identity mismatches.
JEE Advanced Next
Qualified candidates will now appear for JEE Advanced, the critical exam for admission into top IITs across India. For students who appeared in both sessions, the better score has been considered in the final result. A total of 8.33 lakh candidates registered for both sessions, and 7.75 lakh appeared in both.
The journey now intensifies for engineering aspirants as the race to secure a seat at India’s premier institutes enters its final leg.
