"Kasab, Headley Trained Here": Army Confirms Historic Terror Sites Hit in Operation Sindoor
May 7, 2025: New Delhi – The Indian Army has confirmed that one of the nine terror camps targeted during Operation Sindoor was the very same facility where 26/11 terrorists Ajmal Kasab and David Headley received training. The revelation came during a media briefing led by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi this morning.
The announcement underscores the long-standing strategic importance of the sites India hit in its May 7 precision strikes, conducted in retaliation for the Pahalgam massacre, which left 26 civilians dead, including tourists and a local pony handler.

At the same press conference, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri accused Pakistan of inaction, stating:
“Despite a fortnight having passed since the Pahalgam attack, there has been no demonstrable step from Pakistan against terrorist infrastructure on its soil. It was essential that the perpetrators and their planners be brought to justice.”
The nine terrorist launch pads and training centres, spread across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, were carefully chosen based on credible intelligence inputs, Army officials said. Among these was Markaz Taiba in Muridke, the headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba, where Kasab and Headley were radicalized and trained prior to the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Conducted around 1:44 AM on May 7, the tri-services operation involved the Army, Navy, and Air Force, utilizing standoff weapons and air-launched cruise missiles to obliterate terror infrastructure — without crossing into Pakistani airspace.
Even Pakistani authorities, while condemning the strike, have acknowledged that Indian forces did not violate airspace sovereignty, further reinforcing the precision and restraint shown by Indian forces.
The Indian government, through Operation Sindoor, has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, especially when it comes to cross-border attacks backed by state-linked infrastructure.
