Rouse Avenue Court acquits AAP leaders in ED summons-related cases
January 22, 2026: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan have received relief from Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in separate cases linked to alleged non-compliance with summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate. The court dismissed the allegations, providing a setback to the ED in both matters.
Kejriwal was acquitted in a case related to the Delhi excise policy investigation, in which the ED had accused him of deliberately ignoring multiple summons and failing to cooperate with the probe. The court, however, found no grounds to hold him guilty of non-compliance.
In a separate order, the court also cleared Amanatullah Khan in a money-laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in recruitment at the Delhi Waqf Board. The ED had claimed Khan failed to appear despite repeated notices, but the court ruled in his favour, granting him relief in the summons-related case.
