Meghwal accuses Kejriwal of broken promises; BJP calls for arrest amid heated election campaign

New Delhi, January 20: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal launched a scathing attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of hypocrisy and deception. Meghwal highlighted past statements where Kejriwal claimed he would avoid government perks, including a house and security, contrasting them with his current lifestyle.

“Kejriwal once said he wouldn’t live in a government house or take security. Now, he has both. His hypocrisy stands exposed,” Meghwal stated. He expressed confidence in the BJP forming a government in Delhi, adding, “With a double-engine government, Delhi will see substantial development.”


Karol Bagh BJP Candidate Highlights Civic Issues

Dushyant Gautam, BJP’s candidate from Karol Bagh, pointed out the dire state of drinking water in the national capital.
“This fight has become a people’s fight. Delhi, the heart of India, deserves better. Sadly, even the drinking water here is dirty,” Gautam said, criticizing the current administration.


BJP Demands Kejriwal’s Arrest Amid Allegations

Tensions escalated as the BJP called for Kejriwal’s arrest after accusing his vehicle of “running over” a BJP worker. The incident followed AAP’s claims that BJP “goons” had attacked Kejriwal.

BJP candidate Parvesh Verma, contesting from New Delhi, demanded strict action, stating, “Kejriwal’s car should be confiscated, and a case of attempted murder should be registered against his driver.”

Verma also questioned the Election Commission’s inaction. “Why are the Election Commission and police silent? I have filed a complaint, but nothing has been done,” he noted.


AAP vs. BJP: A Heated Election Contest

The political rivalry between AAP and BJP has intensified ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5. With Congress also in the fray, a three-way contest is set to determine the capital’s future leadership. Vote counting is scheduled for February 8.
