V. D. Satheesan accuses Pinarayi Vijayan of misleading people ahead of polls

April 7, 2026: V. D. Satheesan on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Left government in Kerala, calling it the most inefficient administration the state has witnessed. Speaking in Paravoor, he accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of making false claims regarding past links with organisations like RSS and Jamaat-e-Islami, as well as misrepresenting the work done by the previous UDF government led by Oommen Chandy.

Satheesan said he had presented “video proof” to support his allegations, claiming it forced Vijayan to avoid a public debate. He also cited a white paper issued by former finance minister Thomas Isaac to counter the CM’s claims about delays in welfare pensions and housing projects under the UDF regime. According to him, the data shows that over four lakh homes were built and pensions were not delayed as alleged.

Criticising the government’s performance, Satheesan said the LDF failed to fulfil its promises, including timely pension hikes, which were implemented only towards the end of its term. Expressing confidence ahead of the April 9 Assembly elections, he said the UDF is poised to win over 100 seats in the 140-member Assembly, intensifying the political battle in the state.
