Dehradun (Uttarakhand), November 28: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually addressed the closing ceremony of the ‘Third Kumbh Conclave’ in Prayagraj on Wednesday. He lauded the conclave as a pivotal platform for showcasing Indian Sanatan culture, spirituality, and civilization on a global scale, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Expressing his gratitude to the India Think Council for organizing the conclave, CM Dhami said that Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati—embodies Sanatan Dharma, faith, and spiritual traditions. He highlighted that Sanatan Dharma is not just a way of worship but a holistic way of life centered on the welfare of all living beings.
“Sanatan culture is rooted in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the belief that the world is one family. The Kumbh Mela exemplifies this ideology, bringing together millions from across the world to bathe in the sacred confluence, transcending all boundaries of discrimination, and passing our rich cultural heritage to future generations,” Dhami stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized the global significance of the Kumbh, noting that it attracts visitors eager to understand Indian culture, yoga, Ayurveda, and spirituality, which collectively promote India’s enduring values. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, a new development ecosystem has emerged, integrating the mantra of “Development as well as Heritage,” he added.
Highlighting India’s achievements under PM Modi’s leadership, CM Dhami pointed to projects like the reconstruction of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, the construction of Lord Shri Ram’s temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, and the Mahakal Lok development. He also noted India’s international recognition for yoga and UNESCO’s designation of the Kumbh Mela as an intangible cultural heritage.
“The transformative steps taken under PM Modi’s guidance have significantly enhanced the development of pilgrimage sites across the country, bringing pride and recognition to Indian culture on the global stage,” Dhami remarked.
The Maha Kumbh, held once every 12 years, is set to commence on January 13, 2025, and conclude on February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj. CM Dhami described the upcoming event as a milestone in promoting Indian heritage and culture.
