Dr Anita Sharma, a seismologist from the Indian Institute of Himalayan Geology, remarked:

“These events remind us of the ongoing tectonic collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates. While not directly connected, such quakes reflect the region’s inherent seismic volatility.”

She stressed the need for continuous monitoring, public awareness, and preparedness measures, especially in the vulnerable Himalayan belt.

🛑 Time for Precaution

The recent uptick in seismic activity has triggered emergency preparedness reviews in several Indian states. Officials are urging for stricter building codes, especially in quake-prone zones, and improved response protocols to mitigate future risks.
