Prayagraj, February 27: The Maha Kumbh 2025 concluded on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, marking an unparalleled spiritual gathering in world history. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that over 66.30 crore devotees visited Prayagraj during the sacred event, reinforcing the state’s emergence as India’s spiritual tourism hub.
Hailing the success of the Maha Kumbh, CM Yogi highlighted the creation of five new spiritual tourism corridors that will link Prayagraj to major pilgrimage centers, including:
✅ Prayagraj-Mirzapur-Kashi
✅ Prayagraj-Gorakhpur
✅ Prayagraj-Chitrakoot
✅ Prayagraj-Lucknow-Naimisharanya
✅ Prayagraj-Mathura-Vrindavan
“The Maha Kumbh has given a new vision to spiritual tourism. If any state can become the base for it, it is Uttar Pradesh,” said CM Yogi.
CM Yogi applauded the media for its extensive coverage, stating:
“No matter how grand the event was, if the media hadn’t aired it across the country and globally, the Maha Kumbh’s impact would have been limited to Prayagraj.”
He acknowledged that the Rs 7,500 crore investment in Maha Kumbh resulted in economic growth worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore, proving the event’s massive economic and cultural impact.
Post-Kumbh, CM Yogi met with boat drivers in Prayagraj, announcing key welfare measures:
✅ ₹5 lakh insurance for registered boat drivers
✅ Financial assistance to purchase boats
✅ Health coverage under Ayushman Bharat for uninsured individuals
The 45-day-long Maha Kumbh began on January 13 (Paush Purnima) and concluded on February 26 (Maha Shivratri). Millions took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, including revered saints, sages, and pilgrims from across the globe.
