Maha Kumbh 2025 Begins with Devotees Flocking for Paush Purnima Snan

Maha Kumbh 2025, the world's largest spiritual gathering, commenced with fervent devotion as millions queued for the holy dip on Paush Purnima. Devotees from across the globe have converged at Prayagraj’s sacred Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers meet, seeking blessings and spiritual upliftment.

Sacred Significance of the Holy Dip

Pandit Pawan Kumar explained the unparalleled sanctity of the Snan (holy bath) at Triveni Sangam, describing it as a pathway to absolution and peace.
“The Snan at Ganga Triveni is considered the most sacred. It is said that even Lord Ram came here during hardships and found solace. This holy place offers all four blessings—Arth, Dharma, Kaam, and Moksha—making it an incomparable spiritual experience,” said Kumar.

Praise for Event Arrangements

A sadhu from Jodhpur lauded the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the BJP government for the exceptional facilities at this year's Maha Kumbh.
“From food and bathing arrangements to security, everything has been managed excellently. Such grandeur wouldn’t have been possible without Yogi Ji’s leadership,” he shared.

Unique Celestial Significance

This year’s Maha Kumbh is made even more special due to a rare celestial alignment, an event that occurs once every 144 years. The alignment adds spiritual importance to the rituals, drawing millions to Prayagraj.

Elaborate Safety and Traffic Arrangements

The Uttar Pradesh Police, supported by NDRF teams and water police, have been deployed to ensure the safety of the devotees. Traffic authorities have implemented detailed plans for smooth vehicular movement, with designated entry and exit routes to the Sangam Mela area.

Several parking areas have been allocated for vehicles, including Chini Mill Parking, Purva Surdas Parking, and Samyamai Temple Kachar Parking.

The first Shahi Snan (royal bath) will take place on Makar Sankranti, January 14, 2025. The Maha Kumbh will continue until February 26, with over 45 crore devotees expected to participate in this grand spiritual celebration.
