
Maha Kumbh 2025: CM Yogi Leads Security and Management Amidst Massive Crowds for Third Amrit Snan

On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj witnessed its third Amrit Snan. This key event unfolded under tight security protocols following the tragic stampede on Mauni Amavasya, which claimed at least 30 lives.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s Vigilance
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath began monitoring the Mela from 3:30 AM on Monday. Operating from the Maha Kumbh war room in Lucknow, CM Adityanath, alongside senior officials, ensured the seamless execution of rituals at the Sangam. The administration implemented advanced crowd control measures to avert any mishaps.

Safety and Security Reinforced
DIG Maha Kumbh, Vaibhav Krishna, reported the successful completion of snans by Mahanirvani Akhara, Niranjani Akhara, and Juna Akhara. Additional Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi confirmed that security teams were stationed across the site, ensuring a smooth flow of devotees. The Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also rescued a youth from drowning near Sangam on Sunday night, showcasing their preparedness for emergencies.

Global and Local Spiritual Leaders Participate
Mahamandaleshwar Shri Devi Maa from South America expressed her gratitude for participating in the holy dip, calling it an opportunity to “elevate consciousness.” Swami Kailashanand Giri congratulated CM Yogi on the meticulous arrangements for the 13 Akharas. Meanwhile, Laxminarayan Tripathi of the Kinnar Akhara attended the Amrit Snan amidst ongoing controversies within her sect.
Significance of Basant Panchami Snan
The Amrit Snan, a sacred ritual performed under celestial alignments, holds immense spiritual importance. The Basant Panchami event drew millions to the Triveni Sangam, reaffirming faith and tradition amidst challenges.
With over 33.6 crore devotees already attending this year’s Maha Kumbh, the administration’s proactive measures aim to ensure a safer and more organized event for the remaining days of the Mela.
