Maha Kumbh’s Effect on Uttar Pradesh’s Economy to be Close to ₹3 Lakh Crore, Says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh CM highlights Maha Kumbh’s massive economic impact while addressing the UP Assembly, emphasizing the state’s rapid growth and poverty alleviation efforts.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is expected to contribute over ₹3 lakh crore to the state’s economy, making it a key driver of financial growth and development.

Addressing the UP Assembly, the CM responded to Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Ragini Sonkar’s query, asserting that the event’s scale and economic potential are being recognized globally.

“The world is witnessing Uttar Pradesh’s potential through the Maha Kumbh. This grand event will significantly boost the state’s economy,” said Adityanath.

Record-Breaking Maha Kumbh Turnout

The Maha Kumbh 2025, which has attracted millions of devotees and tourists, is set to conclude on February 26. This year’s event has broken previous attendance records, further cementing its significance as a cultural and economic milestone.

Massive Economic Growth & Poverty Alleviation

Highlighting the state’s economic progress, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that his government has brought over six crore people out of poverty in the last eight years.

“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, 25 crore people in India have risen above the poverty line in a decade. Uttar Pradesh alone has contributed significantly, uplifting more than six crore individuals,” he noted.

The CM also took a jibe at the Samajwadi Party, criticizing opposition leaders for their pessimistic stance on India’s economic future.

“I understand your pain because when your leaders claim that India can never become a developed country, you have no choice but to support them,” he remarked.

India’s Economic Aspirations

Yogi Adityanath reiterated his optimism about India’s economic trajectory, stating:

“India is now the world’s fifth-largest economy, and by 2027, we will achieve a $5 trillion economy milestone. Our rapid growth is a source of pride for 140 crore Indians.”

He also pointed out that critics with personal agendas often fail to acknowledge the nation’s progress, but India’s fastest-growing economy status speaks for itself.

A Cultural and Economic Phenomenon

With the Maha Kumbh generating massive revenue across sectors, the UP government views it as a transformational event that not only upholds religious traditions but also serves as a catalyst for infrastructure development and tourism.

As one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, Maha Kumbh continues to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as an emerging economic powerhouse, drawing investments, business opportunities, and international attention.
