Man Orders Rs 39,990 GoPro on Amazon, Gets Empty Package Instead
February 5, 2025: A man named Shubham was left shocked after ordering a GoPro Hero 13 Special Bundle worth ₹39,990 from Amazon and receiving an empty package instead. Along with the camera, Shubham had ordered a Syvro S11 tripod for ₹999 and Telesen ND Filters for ₹2,812, making his total purchase worth ₹43,801.

Shubham shared his ordeal on X, explaining that the package was collected by his building’s watchman. Upon returning home, he opened the package only to find the GoPro missing. He contacted Amazon customer care immediately and was assured a resolution by February 4.
However, during a follow-up on February 4, Amazon allegedly informed him that no further action could be taken as the package was marked as delivered. Shubham noted that the parcel seemed suspicious, claiming, “The sticker on the parcel mentions a weight of 1.28 kg, but the package weighed only 650g.”

Tagging Amazon in his post, Shubham urged them to investigate the matter. His story attracted numerous responses from users sharing similar experiences.
One user recounted receiving pillows instead of a robotic vacuum cleaner but managed to secure a refund by recording the unboxing and filing a complaint. Another suggested opting for open delivery for expensive purchases.
This is not an isolated incident. In July 2024, a Mumbai resident ordered a Techno Phantom V Fold mobile phone worth ₹54,999 and received six tea cups instead.
The growing number of such incidents has sparked concerns about the security and reliability of e-commerce deliveries, especially for high-value items.
