Meerut Murder: Accused Drugged Husband Using Forged Prescription Before Gruesome Murder: Police
March 24, 2025: Meerut Shocker: Woman Altered Husband’s Prescription to Drug Him Before Brutal Murder, Say Officials
In a chilling twist to the Meerut murder case, investigators have revealed that Muskaan Rastogi—accused of murdering her husband Saurabh Rajput—allegedly forged a prescription to obtain sleeping pills used to sedate him before the killing.

Officials confirmed on Sunday that Muskaan bought the sedatives from Usha Medical Store, which has now been raided by authorities. “She presented a prescription via her mobile phone to purchase the pills,” said drug inspector Piyush Sharma, adding that they are now reviewing the store’s sale records from the past two years. If regulatory lapses are found, the store’s license may be revoked.
“Such drugs are controlled substances and require a valid prescription. Retailers must maintain detailed records of such sales,” Sharma emphasized.
Muskaan, with the help of her lover Sahil Shukla, is accused of murdering her husband Saurabh—an ex-Merchant Navy officer—on March 4. Police say the victim was sedated, stabbed in the heart three times, and his body dismembered. The body parts were then sealed in a drum with cement.
Disturbingly, after committing the murder, the couple went on a vacation to Himachal Pradesh while misleading Saurabh’s family through fake texts sent from his phone. The horrific crime only came to light on March 18, when Muskaan reportedly confessed to her mother.

The post-mortem revealed that Saurabh suffered deep stab wounds to the heart, and his head, wrists, and legs were severed or twisted to fit inside the drum. Doctors described it as a prolonged and violent attack.
Saurabh and Muskaan had married in 2016 and have a six-year-old daughter. Police noted that Muskaan and Sahil had reconnected in 2019 through a WhatsApp group. In a shocking detail, Saurabh’s mother claimed their daughter told neighbors, “Papa is in the drum”—suggesting the child may have witnessed part of the incident.
Muskaan has since requested a government lawyer, saying her family has disowned her following the murder. Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma confirmed that her application was accepted. Her partner Sahil Shukla, however, has yet to request legal assistance.
Both accused reportedly wanted to be kept together in prison—a request that jail authorities denied.
