Meerut Murder: Accused Wife Celebrates Holi With Lover Days After Husband’s Murder

Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla partied in Manali just days after allegedly drugging, killing, and chopping up her husband Saurabh Rajput in a chilling murder plot.

March 22, 2025: In a chilling twist to an already gruesome murder case, a video has emerged showing Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla celebrating Holi in Manali, barely 11 days after allegedly killing her husband, Saurabh Rajput. The visuals, filled with color and cheer, starkly contrast the horrific events that had unfolded just days earlier.

The video, reportedly filmed on March 14, shows Muskaan and Sahil covered in Holi colors, smiling and swaying with music in the background. Sahil, visibly intoxicated, makes carefree gestures while the couple poses for the camera, surrounded by other revelers.

This celebration came shortly after the couple had taken a trip to Shimla and Manali following the murder. Another video from their getaway shows Muskaan feeding Sahil cake, wishing him a happy birthday, and kissing him, while other images capture her walking through snowy landscapes – all while the gruesome secret of Saurabh’s death remained hidden.

The police have confirmed that Muskaan and Sahil have been arrested for the brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer, who was also Sahil’s friend. The killing took place in Meerut on March 3, after the duo allegedly drugged him, stabbed him to death, and chopped his body into 15 pieces. The remains were then sealed in a cement-filled drum to hide the evidence.

Saurabh had returned from London on February 24 to celebrate his daughter’s sixth birthday. Muskaan, however, had been planning his murder for months. She had bought knives under the pretense of cutting chicken and faked anxiety to obtain sedatives for the crime.

Their relationship, which began as a love marriage in 2016, had started falling apart by 2021 when Saurabh discovered Muskaan’s affair with Sahil. Despite filing for divorce, he was persuaded by his family to reconcile. Meanwhile, Muskaan allegedly manipulated Sahil by creating a fake Snapchat account pretending to be his deceased mother, convincing him that killing Saurabh was their only way to be together.

According to Meerut City SP Ayush Vikram Singh, the first murder attempt was made on February 25 but failed. The successful attempt was executed on March 3. The case came to light after the couple’s return from their trip, when Muskaan confessed to her mother, claiming they feared Saurabh would stop their drug-fueled lifestyle.

The disturbing blend of murder, deception, and post-crime celebration has shocked the nation and is currently under intensive investigation.
