Home Minister praises PM Modi’s decade of governance, compares his leadership to Lal Bahadur Shastri, and highlights India’s transformation.
New Delhi, January 31: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, declaring that his decade of governance marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Shah made these remarks at the launch of the book “Indian Renaissance: The Modi Decade”, where he reflected on Modi’s impact on India’s political and economic landscape.
“Even Modi Ji’s harshest critics will have to write about his 10 years of governance in golden letters. This is my firm belief,” Shah stated.
“Modi is the Second Leader After Lal Bahadur Shastri to Gain Unwavering Public Trust”
Shah compared PM Modi’s influence to that of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, particularly recalling how the nation followed Modi’s call for a Janata Curfew during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I was astonished when Modi Ji announced the Janata Curfew. He urged people to stay indoors to prevent the spread of the virus. Remarkably, the entire nation adhered to his appeal. After Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, Modi Ji stands out as the second leader who has garnered immense trust and wholehearted support from the people.”
From “Policy Paralysis” to “Politics of Performance”
Shah emphasized that Modi’s leadership had transformed India’s governance:
🔹 “10 years ago, India was known for policy paralysis. Today, it is known for the politics of performance.”
🔹 “Casteism, nepotism, and appeasement had destroyed our democracy—Modi Ji changed that by establishing performance-driven politics.”
Vision for a Developed India by 2047
Retorting to PM Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat”, Shah stated:
“The country should take pride in its achievements over the past 75 years. Modi Ji has set a vision for India to become a fully developed nation by 2047, and today, we are on that path.”
The book launch event, which also saw the presence of Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal, aimed to reflect on PM Modi’s governance, policies, and his vision for India’s future.
