Nagpur Violence Was 'Scripted Drama' by BJP, Claims SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav

"What BJP Wants Is Happening" – Opposition Slams Government Over Unrest

Curfew Imposed as Political Blame Game Heats Up

🔹 Samajwadi Party, Congress, and Shiv Sena (UBT) Condemn Nagpur Violence

Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ram Gopal Yadav on Tuesday blamed the BJP for orchestrating the recent violence in Nagpur, claiming that the ruling party benefited from such incidents.

"What BJP wants is happening," Yadav said while speaking to reporters.

His remarks come after Monday night’s violence in Nagpur’s Hansapuri area, where unidentified individuals vandalized shops, torched vehicles, and pelted stones following an earlier clash in the Mahal area over the Aurangzeb grave controversy.

🚨 Eyewitness Accounts of the Unrest:
📌 A masked group armed with weapons, bottles, and sticks was seen vandalizing shops and setting vehicles on fire.
📌 Multiple shops were ransacked, and nearly 8-10 vehicles were torched.

"They came with their faces covered, carrying sharp weapons and bottles. They went on a rampage, vandalizing shops and setting vehicles ablaze," said an eyewitness.

🔹 Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) Slam BJP for Escalating Tensions

📢 Congress MP Shyamkumar Barve condemned the violence, stating that attempts were being made to provoke communal tensions and divert public attention from real issues.

"Nagpur has never witnessed a Hindu-Muslim clash in its history. This is an attempt to create division and distract people from pressing concerns," Barve stated.

🔥 Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut raised questions about how violence could erupt in Nagpur—a city home to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters and the political stronghold of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

"Who would dare to cause violence in Nagpur, the home of the RSS and the CM’s constituency? This is part of a new pattern—creating fear among Hindus, making them attack their own people, and dragging them into riots," Raut asserted.

💥 He further challenged CM Fadnavis to take strict action under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

"If the Chief Minister is serious about law and order, he should immediately register cases under MCOCA against those responsible for this violence," he demanded.

🔹 Law & Order Measures: Curfew in Multiple Areas

🚨 In response to escalating tensions, Nagpur Police imposed a curfew across multiple localities under Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

📌 Areas under curfew include:

  • Kotwali
  • Ganeshpeth
  • Tehsil
  • Lakadganj
  • Pachpaoli
  • Shantinagar
  • Sakkardara
  • Nandanvan
  • Imamwada
  • Yashodharanagar
  • Kapilnagar

The curfew will remain in effect until further notice, with police authorized to block roads and enforce law and order. Violators may face penalties under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

🔹 Political Fallout: What’s Next?

🔴 With political parties trading accusations, the focus has now shifted to:
Whether the Maharashtra government will act against those responsible.
The role of the police in preventing future outbreaks.
How the situation will impact Maharashtra’s political landscape ahead of elections.

With curfew in place, social media under scrutiny, and investigations ongoing, the Nagpur unrest is turning into a major flashpoint in state politics.
