Naidu Alleges Adulteration in Tirupati Laddu Ghee
AP CM accuses previous YSRCP regime of using chemical-mixed ghee in temple prasadam
February 6,2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday made serious allegations against the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, claiming that Tirupati laddus were prepared using ghee adulterated with chemicals meant for cleaning bathrooms. Addressing a village meeting at Kalugotla in Kurnool district, Naidu alleged that such practices undermined the sanctity and prestige of Lord Venkateswara Swamy and deeply hurt religious sentiments.
The Chief Minister further claimed that the adulterated ghee was used for nearly five years during the YSRCP rule and was not limited to Tirupati alone. According to Naidu, similar chemical-mixed ghee was also supplied to the famous Srisailam temple during the same period. He made these remarks while attending a Pattadar Passbook distribution programme in the Yemmiganur constituency.
Naidu accused the previous government of compromising the purity of temple prasadam and called the alleged act an attack on faith and tradition. The allegations have triggered political reactions, with demands for clarification and accountability over the quality and sourcing of ingredients used in temple offerings during the earlier regime.
