Safety Concerns Raised

The incident has drawn criticism regarding security lapses in Mumbai’s railway system, particularly at a busy station like Ghatkopar. Lata Argade, a railway activist, received the video from a passenger and voiced concerns over the ease with which the man accessed the ladies compartment. “This raises questions about safety and security measures in place at such stations,” she stated.

Authorities Respond

Railway officials confirmed that the man was mentally unstable and did not pose a deliberate threat. The Government Railway Police (GRP) quickly intervened, providing the man with clothes and escorting him out of the station premises. Officials assured that appropriate steps were taken to handle the situation sensitively.

The incident has reignited public concern over passenger safety in Mumbai’s local trains and the need for better monitoring systems at railway stations.
