December 18, 2024: A shocking incident occurred on Monday evening when a naked man entered the ladies compartment of a Mumbai local train, causing panic and outrage among passengers. According to railway authorities, the man, who appeared to be mentally unstable, boarded the train by mistake at Ghatkopar station.

The incident unfolded at Ghatkopar station when the man entered the ladies coach of the Central Railways AC local. A video of the event, now viral on social media, shows agitated passengers urging him to leave the compartment. Women can be heard chanting “Neeche utro (get down)” as the man stood near the doorway.

In the video, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel is seen pushing the man out of the train. However, this action has sparked a debate online, with many questioning whether the man, who seemed mentally unwell, needed assistance and medical care rather than being forcefully ejected.
The incident has drawn criticism regarding security lapses in Mumbai’s railway system, particularly at a busy station like Ghatkopar. Lata Argade, a railway activist, received the video from a passenger and voiced concerns over the ease with which the man accessed the ladies compartment. “This raises questions about safety and security measures in place at such stations,” she stated.
Railway officials confirmed that the man was mentally unstable and did not pose a deliberate threat. The Government Railway Police (GRP) quickly intervened, providing the man with clothes and escorting him out of the station premises. Officials assured that appropriate steps were taken to handle the situation sensitively.
The incident has reignited public concern over passenger safety in Mumbai’s local trains and the need for better monitoring systems at railway stations.
