"No Matter What They Do, NDA Will Win Again Under Nitish Kumar": BJP Minister Sanjay Saraogi Hits Back at Opposition
Patna (Bihar), April 16: In response to the Congress-RJD’s recent show of unity ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, BJP leader and state minister Sanjay Saraogi hit back on Tuesday, asserting that NDA will once again return to power under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
“No matter what they do, nothing is going to happen. NDA will win again under Nitish Kumar. The common people are with PM Modi and the double-engine government. There’s a spring of development in Bihar. NDA is united—they are divided,” said Saraogi, taking a sharp dig at the opposition INDIA bloc.
The remarks come shortly after a strategic meeting between Congress and RJD leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav, was held at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence to discuss poll strategies and seat-sharing arrangements.
Backing Saraogi’s claims, Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary reiterated that Nitish Kumar would remain Chief Minister regardless of how many opposition parties join hands.
“There is no challenge. Even if the entire UPA and INDIA alliance fight together, Nitish Kumar will stay Bihar’s CM,” Chaudhary declared.
Adding further weight to NDA’s confidence, Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, also appealed to voters to give the Janata Dal (United) a larger mandate than in 2010.
Meanwhile, the opposition remains defiant. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in a post-meeting statement, expressed optimism about “freeing Bihar from BJP and its opportunist alliance.”
“This time, change is certain in Bihar. We will offer the people a strong, positive, welfare-oriented alternative,” said Kharge.
Tejashwi Yadav, speaking to the media, echoed the sentiment and stressed that the alliance is united and ready. He also confirmed a follow-up meeting of INDIA bloc partners in Patna on April 17.
**“We will unanimously decide the Chief Ministerial face. But one thing is sure—NDA is not forming the government this time,” Yadav claimed.
Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru and State Congress President Rajesh Kumar both highlighted that the meeting marked just the beginning of a broader alliance plan to challenge NDA rule.
“We will move ahead point-by-point and in a systematic manner to counter the NDA,” said Rajesh Kumar.
As both camps sharpen their electoral strategies, Bihar is heading for a high-stakes political showdown—with NDA banking on development and stability, while the INDIA bloc bets on public discontent and united opposition strength.
