India rebukes Pakistan at UN Human Rights Council, calls out its hypocrisy and failed governance.
Geneva [Switzerland], February 27: India launched a scathing attack on Pakistan at the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), calling it a “failed state surviving on international handouts.”
Kshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, dismissed Pakistan’s statements as falsehoods dictated by its military-terrorist complex and accused Islamabad of making a mockery of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) by using it as a propaganda tool.
“It is unfortunate that this Council’s time continues to be wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and survives on international handouts. Its rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions of inhumanity, and its governance of incompetence,” said Tyagi.
India Reaffirms J&K’s Status
Tyagi also reaffirmed India’s unwavering position on Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, stating that these regions will always remain an “integral and inalienable part of India.”
“The unprecedented political, social, and economic progress in J&K in recent years speaks for itself. These successes prove the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy in a region scarred by decades of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” he asserted.
Tyagi further lambasted Pakistan for its state-sponsored human rights abuses, persecution of minorities, and systematic erosion of democracy, saying that it has no moral standing to lecture any nation on human rights.
“As a country where human rights abuses, minority persecution, and the systematic erosion of democratic values are state policies, Pakistan has no authority to preach to others,” he added.
“Pakistan Must End Its Unhealthy Obsession with India”
Calling Pakistan’s continued anti-India rhetoric a desperate distraction from its own failures, Tyagi urged Islamabad to focus on providing governance and justice to its own citizens instead of interfering in India’s internal affairs.
“Instead of its unhealthy obsession with India, Pakistan should focus on addressing the crises plaguing its own people,” he remarked.
Tyagi’s strong rebuttal came in response to malicious statements made by Pakistan, in which it attempted to spread misinformation about Jammu and Kashmir.
India’s response follows a similar statement by Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, who reaffirmed on February 19 that Jammu & Kashmir “has been, is, and will always be” an integral part of India while condemning Pakistan’s misinformation campaigns at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
India’s Firm Stand on Pakistan’s Misinformation
This is not the first time India has called out Pakistan’s propaganda and hypocrisy at international forums. New Delhi has consistently exposed Islamabad’s support for terrorism, its human rights abuses, and its deepening economic and political crisis.
With this powerful rebuttal at the UNHRC, India has once again reaffirmed its sovereignty over Jammu & Kashmir while sending a strong message to Pakistan and the global community.
