PM Modi Assures Indians’ Safety Amid West Asia Crisis

PM in Kerala says government will support citizens abroad, targets Congress and urges political change in state

March 11, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday assured that India will not abandon its citizens during international crises, promising support for Indians living in West Asia amid the ongoing regional conflict. Speaking at a rally in Kochi in Kerala, Modi said the government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating assistance for Indian nationals. He also thanked several Gulf countries for supporting and protecting Indian workers during the difficult period.

During his address, Modi criticised the Indian National Congress for allegedly politicising the West Asia conflict and took a swipe at opposition leaders over remarks related to India’s drone technology sector. Without naming him directly, the Prime Minister targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming the opposition was unaware of the progress made by India’s youth and startups in drone manufacturing, including those emerging from Kerala.

With assembly elections approaching in Kerala, Modi urged voters to move away from the long-standing political cycle between the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front. He said decades of alternating rule had slowed development and called on voters to give the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA an opportunity to govern the state, promising faster growth and a “developed Kerala.”
