Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the NDA’s sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 as a “victory of good governance”, after the BJP-led alliance, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (JD(U)), secured an overwhelming mandate.
As per the latest Election Commission data, the NDA was leading in or had already won around 200 out of 243 seats—the alliance’s best-ever performance in Bihar.
Celebrations erupted at NDA offices across the state, with supporters holding placards of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar as counting trends showed a decisive lead.
In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister wrote:
“Victory of development has been achieved. Victory of the spirit of public welfare has been achieved. Victory of social justice has been achieved.”
Expressing gratitude to the people of Bihar, he added:
“My deepest gratitude to the family members of Bihar, who have blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory… This resounding public mandate will empower us to serve the people and work with new resolve for Bihar.”
PM Modi also congratulated allies in the NDA, acknowledging the roles of Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha.
He noted that the mandate reflects the people’s trust in the alliance’s “track record and vision to take the state to new heights.”
