Narendra Modi attacks Trinamool Congress in Medinipur, promising jobs, transparency and industrial revival.

April 9, 2026: Addressing a massive rally in Medinipur, Narendra Modi called for political change in West Bengal, stressing the need for development and better governance. He began his visit by offering prayers at the Barg Bhima Shaktipeeth and the shrine of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, underlining the region’s cultural and spiritual significance. Despite heavy rainfall, large crowds attended the rally, with Modi appreciating their turnout.

Targeting the Trinamool Congress government, Modi accused it of hampering the state’s progress, weakening industries in Haldia and failing to create opportunities for youth. He alleged that private sector jobs have declined, public recruitment is marred by corruption, and skilled workers are migrating due to lack of employment. He also criticised what he described as a politics of fear, stating that investment and business growth depend on trust and stability.

Modi assured that a BJP government would restore confidence, ensure transparent governance and generate employment through initiatives such as job fairs. He promised to end corruption, dismantle syndicate systems and implement development models seen in other BJP-ruled states. Urging voters to reject divisive politics, he said the BJP aims to build a growth-oriented, accountable administration that would drive industrial revival and long-term progress in Bengal.
