Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), February 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a holy dip (‘Snan’) at Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, during Mahakumbh 2025. He described the moment as a ‘divine connection.’

Sharing his experience on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed his deep spiritual devotion after participating in the sacred ritual.

“Blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The Snan at the Sangam is a moment of divine connection, and like the crores of others who have taken part in it, I was also filled with a spirit of devotion.”

He further prayed for universal well-being, adding:

“May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony.”


PM Modi’s Visit to Prayagraj: A Spiritual and Developmental Commitment

After arriving in Prayagraj, PM Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for a boat tour on the Yamuna River. He later offered puja at Triveni Sangam, further strengthening his connection with India’s spiritual heritage.

Mahakumbh 2025: The World’s Largest Spiritual Gathering

Mahakumbh 2025, which commenced on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is considered the largest religious and cultural gathering in the world. The event will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26, attracting millions of devotees, saints, and seekers from across the globe.

By 8 AM on Wednesday, an estimated 3.748 million devotees had taken the holy dip at Sangam, including:

  • Over 10 lakh Kalpvasis (devotees staying at the Kumbh site for a month).
  • 2.748 million pilgrims who arrived in the early hours to participate in the sacred ritual.

According to Uttar Pradesh government data, the total number of bathers since the start of Mahakumbh has exceeded 382 million as of February 4, reaffirming the unparalleled spiritual and cultural significance of the event.


PM Modi’s Efforts to Preserve India’s Cultural and Spiritual Heritage

PM Modi has consistently championed the revival and preservation of India’s spiritual and cultural traditions. During his previous visit to Prayagraj on December 13, 2024, he inaugurated 167 development projects worth ₹5,500 crore aimed at:
