Leadership and Ideology

PM Modi reiterated his lifelong commitment to transparency and integrity. “Mistakes are inevitable. I must have made mistakes. I am a human too, not a god. But I will not do anything wrong out of bad intentions,” he explained, reflecting on his political journey since becoming Gujarat’s chief minister.

He also spoke about his willingness to embrace new ideas while adhering to his core principle of “nation first.” “If I have to leave old ideas behind, I am ready to discard them. I am ready to accept new things. But the benchmark should be ‘nation first,’” he said.

Empowering Women in Politics

Discussing the growing role of women in governance, PM Modi noted that one-third of Lok Sabha and assembly seats would soon be reserved for women, adding that their significant presence in local bodies was already paving the way. “Women should work to become as capable as they can be to prepare themselves for assemblies and Parliament,” he advised.

Focus on Governance Over Politics

PM Modi described himself as a leader focused on governance rather than political campaigning. “I have to make political speeches during elections. It is my compulsion. But all my time outside elections is spent on governance,” he shared.

Personal Reflections

During the two-hour podcast, the Prime Minister reminisced about his humble beginnings, recalling how financial constraints prevented him from applying to a sainik school. Instead of feeling disappointed, he channeled his struggles into learning and growth.

“My struggles have been the university that taught me,” he said, adding that communication and actions often speak louder than oratorial skills, citing Mahatma Gandhi’s life as an example.

A Vision for the Future

PM Modi outlined his vision for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047. He stressed the need for “minimum government, maximum governance,” clarifying that the concept focuses on reducing bureaucratic hurdles rather than cutting government staff.

The Prime Minister also reflected on his emotional moment when he called his mother after successfully hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk during the BJP’s 1992 Ekta Yatra.
