Etawah (Uttar Pradesh), December 16: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla praised the pivotal role of the Hindi language in India's cultural and national development, calling it the "soul and identity of India." Speaking at the annual convention of the 'Etawah Hindi Seva Nidhi,' he underscored Hindi's unifying power in India's diverse cultural landscape.

“Hindi binds our cultural diversity in the thread of unity and gives it strength,” Birla said during his address.

AI Translating Lok Sabha Debates to Hindi

“A humble effort is being made to translate Lok Sabha debates into Hindi using Neural Language Model of AI,” read a post shared by the Speaker’s office on X.

The Speaker lauded Hindi’s adaptability to modern technologies, noting that AI is being leveraged to make Hindi literature and poetry more accessible worldwide. “Hindi’s flexibility has allowed it to adapt to changing technologies. The richness of Hindi literature and poetry is now being shared across the globe more efficiently through AI,” he said.

Growing Use in Governance and Technology

Hindi as a Unifying Force

Reflecting on India’s Constitution-making process, Birla acknowledged the vision of leaders from diverse linguistic backgrounds who recognized Hindi's potential as a unifying force for the nation.

“When we look at governance systems and democratic institutions worldwide, Hindi's importance in uniting India's diversity and reinforcing its unity becomes evident,” he remarked.

Birla concluded by affirming that Hindi, enriched by its cultural heritage, continues to play a vital role in India’s nation-building efforts, serving as a symbol of unity amidst diversity.
