Sandeep Dikshit Accuses Kejriwal of Taking Credit for Congress’ Work in Delhi

Congress leader alleges collaboration between AAP and BJP, vows party’s victory in upcoming Delhi polls

New Delhi, January 14: Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of claiming credit for developmental works initiated by previous Congress governments in Delhi. He also alleged that Kejriwal had collaborated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in past elections to weaken the Congress.

"He [Kejriwal] has done a huge farziwada in Delhi. Was the liquor scam saving the country? Living in a luxurious palace—was that saving the country? Was defeating Congress with BJP's help saving the country? He has taken credit for Congress’ work in Delhi," Dikshit said.

Criticism of Leadership

Dikshit also criticized Kejriwal’s leadership, asserting that the AAP leader lacks the courage to answer allegations.

"Kejriwal doesn’t have the courage to answer even one question being asked of him. The day he loses the election, he will go to jail. Congress is contesting to win, and the party will win," Dikshit added.

The Congress leader is contesting from the New Delhi assembly constituency against Kejriwal and BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in the upcoming Delhi polls.

Kejriwal's Response

On Monday, Kejriwal took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming Gandhi’s focus was on saving his party, whereas Kejriwal’s mission was to save the nation.

"Rahul Gandhi abused me a lot today, but I will not respond. His fight is to save Congress; my fight is to save the country," Kejriwal said in a social media post.

Congress-AAP Tensions

Despite being part of the INDIA opposition bloc, Congress and AAP have been trading barbs as the Delhi Assembly elections approach. At a rally in Seelampur, Rahul Gandhi criticized both the BJP and AAP, questioning their efforts to combat inflation and support the poor.
